On June 3, 2024, an attack by Ransomware has paralyzed the operations of 14 NHS hospitals in London.
The attack on Synnovis, a provider of clinical testing for NHS hospitals, shut down London hospitals, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital. The disruption was so severe that medical teams were unable to perform blood transfusions or access medical records or laboratory results. More than 1,700 surgeries were canceled, and thousands of outpatient appointments were rescheduled.
